In specialized industries such as tunnel engineering, lifting equipment must be compact, flexible, and highly adaptable to confined working environments. This project highlights how a tailored Aluminum Gantry Crane solution was successfully delivered to a customer in Singapore, meeting strict dimensional and operational requirements while ensuring efficiency and reliability.
The client, a first-time customer contacted in August 2025, operates in the tunnel engineering sector, where workspace limitations and mobility challenges demand precise and lightweight lifting equipment. After understanding the application scenario, we recommended the PRG1S40 Aluminum Gantry Crane, a model specifically designed for light-duty operations in restricted environments.
The crane features a 500 kg lifting capacity, a 4-meter main beam length, and an adjustable lifting height ranging from 1209 mm to 1709 mm, making it ideal for handling materials within low-clearance tunnel conditions. With an A3 working duty, the crane is suitable for intermittent operations, ensuring consistent performance without unnecessary complexity. The system adopts a manual operation mode, which enhances simplicity and reduces maintenance requirements.
A key focus of this project was the customer’s strict customization requirements, particularly regarding the wheel configuration. The client specified a wheel spacing of exactly 900 mm, which had to be followed precisely according to the provided drawings. This requirement was critical to ensure compatibility with the narrow pathways and structural layout of the tunnel environment.
In addition, the crane was equipped with directional wheels with braking function, allowing controlled left and right movement while limiting the wheel rotation to 90 degrees. This design enhances operational stability and prevents unintended movement, which is especially important in confined or uneven working conditions. At the same time, the inclusion of swivel wheel functionality ensures flexibility in positioning the crane during operation.
The customer ordered a total of four units, reflecting the scale of their project and the need for multiple lifting points within the tunnel system. To ensure consistency, all units were manufactured strictly in accordance with the provided technical drawings, with careful attention to dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.
During the negotiation process, the client expressed a preference for a more flexible payment term, specifically requesting to pay the remaining 50% after receiving the goods. However, we clearly explained our standard policy, which requires the balance payment before shipment. Through professional communication and mutual understanding, the customer accepted the terms, recognizing the importance of maintaining production and delivery efficiency.
Price was also a consideration, and the customer requested a discount. By evaluating the order quantity and long-term cooperation potential, we were able to provide a reasonable price adjustment while maintaining high product quality and service standards.
One of the major advantages of the Aluminum Gantry Crane is its lightweight yet durable structure, which allows for easy transportation, quick assembly, and convenient relocation. This is particularly valuable in tunnel engineering projects, where equipment often needs to be moved frequently within limited spaces.
The project was completed within a 10-day delivery timeframe, meeting the customer’s urgent schedule. The cranes were shipped via sea freight under CIF Singapore terms, ensuring smooth logistics and timely delivery to the port.
This successful project demonstrates how a well-designed Aluminum Gantry Crane can effectively address the unique challenges of tunnel engineering applications. By combining precise customization, reliable performance, and flexible design, we were able to deliver a solution that aligns perfectly with the customer’s operational needs.
As infrastructure projects continue to grow in complexity, aluminum gantry cranes are proving to be an essential tool, offering a balance of portability, precision, and efficiency for demanding environments.
