This is especially helpful when overhead obstacles need to be cleared during transportation. ②The capability to alter the beam’s clear span distance is known as span adjustment. In some facilities, traffic access may be restricted, but overhead clearances are wide open. In order to move through the facility, you would move the leg frames closer together on the I-beam, narrowing the clear span.③Adjustment to tread: at times, overhead space and traffic access are both restricted. In this instance, you must reduce the tread width. That is, the distance that separates the wheels on a leg frame’s tread width. The amount of space required to move the gantry crane lengthwise through a facility while maintaining the full span length is determined by this width.
